The problem

The application process is overwhelming

Every school does things differently. One has an Early Action deadline in October, another wants two supplemental essays, a third has a test-optional policy and its own portal. Miss one date and an entire application can fall apart.

Families end up juggling messy spreadsheets, browser tabs, and sticky notes — and it's still easy to lose track of what's done and what's due. Students feel the stress most, right when they should be focused on doing their best work.

There needs to be a single tool that holds the whole plan together. That's why University Logger exists.

  • !
Scattered deadlines — Early Action, Early Decision, and Regular dates that differ at every school.
  • !
Endless essays — supplemental prompts and word limits that pile up fast.
  • !
Different requirements — recommendations, test policies, and portals unique to each college.
  • !
No single source of truth — spreadsheets get messy and progress is hard to see.

Built by a dad, for his daughter

I'm Erik Woodward, and I built University Logger while helping my daughter Ailey — a high school senior — navigate her own college applications.

Watching Ailey work through it up close, I saw just how stressful and disorganized the process really is: the tangle of deadlines, the pile of supplemental essays, the different requirements at every single school. We tried spreadsheets and reminders, but nothing gave her a clear, calm path forward.

So I built one. What started as a simple tool to help Ailey stay on top of her applications grew into University Logger — a structured, stress-reducing way for any student and family to take control of the journey. If it helps your family the way it helped ours, then it's done its job.
